Southfield vs. Proctor Academy Feb 13, 2009
Proctor vs. Southfield has been a battle every year, this year was no exception. Probably the best period of hockey I have seen this year from our girls was the first period. We battled hard and the first goal of the game came with 2:44 left in the period. Southfield would take the 1-0 lead to the locker room and come back on the penalty kill to start the 2nd. Later they would take advantage a power play to go up 2-0 at 2:57 in the 2nd and at 4:23 we would go up by 3. Proctor Coach called an important time out and her girls responded and kept the pressure on and getting one back, and then our girls would return the favor before the end of the 2nd, to send the girls to the locker room with a 4-1 lead. With just under 3 minutes penalties coming just 15 seconds apart with leave a 4 on 4 for 1:15 and in just 15 seconds Proctor would make it 4-2. Pulling their goalie for at the end we would not be able to get a clear shot on their empty net till the very end when the puck went in just seconds after the buzzer sounded for an important 4-2 win for Southfield.
