Southfield vs. The Gunnery, did not make it for the trip last year, the bus broke down and we came home with an injured player and the win. Looks like they came to play physical at our rink today. The refs took some heat from the coach and the Gunnery fans as both box’s were busy today. No score after 1 and the second brought a more physical game and plenty of penalties. Then just after 5 minutes into the second a shot from the left goal line went in off the goalie to start the scoring. 58 seconds later it would be 2-0. At the end of second the ref had a discussion with the team captains on the ice before the Zamboni could come out. With 7:37 left in the third on a play with the Gunnery goalie ending up behind the net Southfield would make it 3-0 and give them some breathing room. Then after a great save and out D getting it out of the open net a gunner player while on the ice would take a swipe at it and go right by our goalie to make it 3-1 with 4:14 left. The final goal in this 4-1 win would come with 1:07 left in the game
