Today was a little bit different than yesterday. The girls continued to skate hard and move the puck but they were shooting on net and saw some chances from their efforts. This was some great hockey keeping the puck out of both nets the Middlebury girls netted their first goal on guess what a power play, making that 4 straight power play goals so far this weekend. There were plenty of power plays our girls denied them but this was not going to break them, even when the panthers went up by two.
With a short bench (3 out with concussions now) the girls got plenty of ice time and showed they are in great shape. The Alumni and other students and family there to cheer them on they got on the board in the second period off a sweet breakaway goal. Late in the 3rd still fighting hard and it paid off with a memorable first career goal by one of our freshman. They kept the pressure on both ends and into OT again here at Sage Rink, this is becoming a regular for these two teams when they meet at Hamilton. This one would not however go our way, with a weak flick towards the net the puck looked covered up but escaped and slowly rolled into our net giving the panthers a 3-2 OT win. Well there is a chance we will meet them in the playoffs and it would be awesome to bring home a win that day!
