Hamilton @ Wesleyan Fri Feb 7, 2014
I had just getting situated and totally missed the first goal at the other end, come on girls we got this a 1-0 deficit less than two minutes in. They were playing fairly well registered over double the shots in the first as Wesleyan but not enough to beat the goalie. We were leaving pucks out on her weak side with no one jumping on it to poke it home. Outplay them in the First – we pretty much all agreed that we did. The second we were less consistent with the pressure and they put one in on a power play and then again just before the period ended out girls would go to the locker room in a 3-0 hole. Third period they cam out harder than the last but unable to take advantage of the any of the 3 power play opportunities. With just under two minutes in a moment of frustration with the open net one of our girls took down the player and I learned something (You can actually score a goal and the puck does not enter the net) With the goalie off the ice and a penalty happens that would have ended up as a penalty shot, it is an automatic goal. Then to top it off they scored another open netter. Wesleyan rink has never been a place where Hamilton has played its best., two years ago after shutting them out for the win we turned around and gave them their first win of the season and suffered a 4-0 loss.. Hopefully today we will return the favor and get our first NESCAC win (hope that does not jinx us but at this point none of the Bud Light Commercial Ideas are working)
