Saturday January 25th , 2014 - Hamilton in Traditional Travel Blue. Sorry got behind on the pictures so I am going to work my way backwards today. Here we are in Hartford on a weekend where a sweep would put us in easy reach of the playoff berth. Yesterday was a bunch of weird things happening, starting the game on dirty ice due to the Zamboni being down, no Anthem due to mic being down and then we went down 1-0. Today however it would be different or at least that is what we thought. At just 66 seconds into the game we were down 1-0 again. We got this, no problem right. Well it is what we all hoped the girls could pull it off against a team we have never beat in the last 4 years. They seemed to be struggling this year and yesterday they did not play well either. Today however their passes were crisp, ours were not that crisp on the big ice surface. Our lone goal came from a great last ditch effort in the first period to grab the 1-1 tie with just 15 seconds left. They skated hard and so did we at times. We matched two penalties apiece today, but they were able to convert one into a 3rd period goal to finish with a 3-1 win. We did pull our goalie and were able to muster a late charge and even deflect a nice shot on the open net. At this point a Trinity win seems very unlikely for the class of 2014.
