First of all the score does not really reflect how the girls dug deep and came to play, after the day started off with a delay in the bus departing Clinton. The first period the Elmira girls showed the physical strength and held the puck in our zone for an uncomfortably long time. They put one in and went up 1-0, that’s when the determination of our girls and especially our goal tender took over. They fought for every possession, face off and never gave up. The last penalty kill proved to be the last one they could prevent the strong offensive team from capitalizing on. Elmira kept our shot count down, the puck away from our shooters who were forced to shoot from a long way off. Then the empty netter to make it 3-0. I think from watching it here it was clear our girls have grown in the depth they will go to win a game, they never gave up and even though they did not seem to get a flow going that they could maintain they kept in the game right till the end. 2013 Starts with a hard fought loss to the #3 team in the country 3-0.
