A little shaky on the start, 2 min into the game Amherst made their mark with the first goal. Then they followed up just 9:12 in with a 2nd. Then a few minutes later on a Penalty Kill we would net the first of the season. The period would end 3-1. Still on the power play at the start of the 2nd the Continentals would capitalize an bring it to within one and break the Power Play freeze out that has haunted them in past years. End of 2nd with a two goal deficit and Amherst returned in the 3rd to spread the lead with just under 3 minutes into the 3rd it was 5-2, then quickly 6-2. Time to pick it up and they did, they were able to come back with 3 good goals and Amherst was forced to take a time out to settle the players. We ended the game on a power play and our goalie out, plenty of shots and face-offs in their end but the 6-4 advantage did not net us the tying goal as the goalie stood strong. Strong finish against Lord Jeff’s and let’s see what Saturday at Sage will bring.
