The coach told us to expect some changes and he delivered! The new plan was very effective at keeping the play out of our zone and the play definitely was in our favor. That was until the first penalty and then another with a 5 -3 advantage they took advantage of both, the second coming just as the penalty expired. 2-0 at the end of the first, and the 2nd did not start off in our favor as it quickly became a 3-0 game after just 32 seconds of play. Less than 3 minutes later it would look like a rout by Amherst as they made it 4-0. Until the girls regained their composure and started to fend off the attack. They got a chance to show the new and improved power play and deliver some shots as well. . They would make it 5-0, but the game was not over yet with a Jeff in the box for a 5 minute major the Continentals would put away an impressive power play goal and finish the scoring at 5-1. All in all I think we are going to see a very competitive squad this year when they all hit the ice healthy.
