Colby showed its speed early, taking advantage of the new icing rules. They skated hard and fast with a few speedsters on the squad. They would get on the board first 8:21 in the first period. Then 28 seconds later they pushed one in after a cluster of activity in front of our goalie. From my standpoint the net had come off during the confusion, but when everyone cleared the post was in place. Mules took a 2-0 lead to the locker room. Quickly in the 2nd they would make it 3-0 with a nice play in front of our net. Just about 3 minutes later we would score and put a dent into their momentum. Contrary to the scoreboard the SOG were in favor of Colby not Hamilton at the end of two. The Third period would be a very different story. The Continentals came out sharp and determined two quick goals in the first six minutes, the first collegiate goals for two of our freshman would tie the game 3-3. Continentals were able to keep the momentum on our side and the winning goal would come at 9:24 into the period.. The SOG tell the story of the play with Continentals winning that battle 14-3 even with the man advantage as the mules pulled their goalie in the end. Great Job in Maine this weekend!!
